How to care for your jewellery

Caring for PVD coated jewellery is easy! It's a really simple case of less is more. Here’s how:

• Aim your perfume away from it (or at least try). Your bangle shouldn't be wearing Chanel before you do.

• Ended up on there anyway? No worries. Just rinse it off when you shower. Water isn't the problem, by the way. It's usually the solution. A quick rinse washes away the everyday build-up that collects while you wear it.

• Sanitiser goes on your hands, not your rings. The same goes for bleach and heavy-duty cleaning products. Rings take the biggest knocks, so they deserve a little extra love.

• Every now and then, give your jewellery a quick wipe with a soft, dry cloth. A plain cotton cloth (or even an old T-shirt) is perfect.

• One last thing: please don't use silver polishing cloths, silver dip, jewellery cleaning solutions or ultrasonic cleaners. They're designed to polish solid gold and silver, not plated jewellery, and can strip the finish far faster than years of everyday wear ever would.
